About Pro-Glue
Pro-Glue was established in 2024 following the acquisition of Danish adhesive manufacturer PRO-GLUE A/S (est. 1941) and its merger with Bang & Bonsomer’s Construction & Industrial Materials division and former Adhesive Solutions business unit.
Bang & Bonsomer Group is an international company headquartered in Helsinki, Finland, with offices, production facilities, warehouses, laboratories, and technical centers across nine European countries.
Pro-Glue A/S roots trace back to wartime Denmark, when engineer Frede Andersen founded a small adhesive factory in Frederiksberg to meet domestic glue shortages. What began as cornflour-based glue production quickly evolved into a thriving business known for custom formulations and technical problem-solving.
A major breakthrough came in 1941 when Frede developed a casein-based label adhesive for Tuborg Brewery—ice-water resistant yet easily washable. This innovation sparked a reputation that endures today: delivering tailored solutions built on expertise.
The company relocated to Lille Skensved in 1961, where it still operates. Over the decades, it grew through strategic name changes and leadership transitions, including a 2010 management buyout by long-time employee Jørgen Thaulov, who ensured the business remained in Denmark.
Today, Pro-Glue combines a broad product portfolio, deep technical expertise, and global distribution capabilities—delivering smart adhesive solutions backed by the full strength of the Bang & Bonsomer Group.
